Met chief pays tribute to officer as suspected killer remains in hospital where he awaits being charged
The commissioner of the Metropolitan police has paid tribute to the custody sergeant shot dead at Croydon police station and said the 23-year-old suspect remained in hospital in a critical condition where he it has not been possible to question him .
A second man has also been arrested on suspicion of supplying the revolver used in the fatal incident, and is being held in a south London police station, the Met police added.
