Tougher measures have been imposed in Bolton to stem a surge in Covid-19 cases, the health secretary, Matt Hancock, announced in a statement to parliament on Tuesday.  Bolton has the highest number of cases in the country at 120 per 1000,000 people.

The new restrictions include restaurants being restricted to takeaways, no socialising outside your household and venues having to stay shut from 10pm to 5am
