In case you missed this news, there were violent clashes in Washington on ahead of Electoral College members casting their official ballots on Monday (US time).

Usually, the official ballot process simply formalises the results of the election. But this year, Republican officials have been pressured by President Donald Trump and his team to ignore the popular vote in some states and cast ballots for Trump, rather than president-elect Joe Biden.
