FAQ: What to Know About Creating a TIME Account

Why should I register for an account on TIME.com? Creating a username and password will allow you to create an account that you can access and update whenever you like. If you are a print subscriber, you can link your digital and print accounts and we will offer you additional features and benefits over time. By registering, you’ll be eligible for special offers and upcoming features like personalization and customization.

Is registration free? Yes. There is no charge to set up a TIME account.

What benefits do I receive if I sign up for an account?

  • The Brief newsletter, a daily roundup of the best stories curated by TIME editors
  • The ability to manage your digital account
  • Invitations to exclusive events including TIME100 Talks and Behind the Cover
  • Special offers including discounts at the TIME Cover Store

How do I create a free account?

  • Go here to create your account.
  • You can create an account three ways: Sign in via your Google or Facebook accounts or with your email address and a new password.

I’ve already registered. How do I log in? If you’ve already registered, click log in and enter your email address and password. If you’ve forgotten your password, please use our online password tool to recover it.

What if I need help creating an account or logging in? You can reset your password anytime here. If you need additional support, contact customer service at time-customerservice@time.com or call customer service at 1-800-843-8463.

How can I manage my preferences and/or link my print magazine subscription to my account? You can do all of this in My Account. To link your print subscription, you’ll need your print subscriber ID (you can find the mailing on the mailing label of your magazine). You can also look up your subscriber ID in My Account using your mailing address. We encourage all print subscribers to link to their accounts; you’ll receive additional features and benefits as this new experience develops.

Having trouble linking your print subscription?

  1. I have a subscription but am unable to link it: Check to make sure your subscriber ID is correct and that your subscription is active before you link it. If you still face issues contact customer service here.
  2. I linked my print subscription but it no longer appears to be linked: If your subscription has expired it will no longer be linked to your digital account. You can renew your print subscription here. Once you have an active subscription, you can link it to your digital account to access your benefits.

How can I subscribe to the magazine? You can subscribe here. You can also give a subscription as a gift or choose our Student Offer.

How can I sign up for email newsletters? You can sign up here. We have a variety of newsletter options, including multiple daily products (The D.C. Brief, The Coronavirus Brief, Health), and others that are delivered once or twice a week (Inside TIME, The Leadership Brief).
