Queensland will now set up a new unit within its health department to deal with specialist medical appointments from interstate. The unit will sit within the chief medical officer’s office and include social workers.

I understand it is a very difficult time for people.
It’s a very emotional time for people and what I have asked the deputy premier as Health Minister and also the departments to do is to actually set up a unit where they can deal with these specialist appointments in a coordinated manner.

There has been one new case of Covid recorded in Queensland in the past 24 hours.
They are a close contact of an existing case and has been in self-isolation.
