The mayor of Portland launched a searing attack on Donald Trump yesterday after an alleged member of a rightwing group was shot dead when Trump supporters clashed with Black Lives Matter demonstrators in the city. Mayor Ted Wheeler told Trump to “stay the hell out of the way” as he accused the president of stoking violence, while Joe Biden also criticised Trump for “recklessly encouraging” violent unrest.
