Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden has called for the US to put politics aside and unite as the country faces ‘too many crises’. Speaking at Gettysburg, the site of one of the bloodiest battles of the US civil war, Biden said he decided to run for president after the far-right rally and resulting violence in Charlottesville, Virginia, in 2017. ‘It was hate on the march in the open.
